Featured Science Lessons

Engage students with science lessons that tie into seasonal phenomena. Students investigate the phenomena with data, videos, and hands-on activities. Explore these resources:

  • Why Are Baby Animals Cute?: Explore the science behind cuteness with a video or reading. Then, support a claim with evidence and reasoning.

  • 200 Years of Dinosaurs: Examine modern-day organisms and their environment based on their skeletons. Then, do the same activity with fossils of ancient organisms.

  • Glider Games: How do forces interact with aviation? Have students explore this question by designing their own gliders.

  • Aurora Activity: NOAA scientists predict an increase in aurora activity in 2024. Watch a video of an aurora, then explore data and readings to develop an evidence-supported claim.
